“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:20).
Do not sell yourself short. Your value is not tied up in self-perception, net-worth, innate abilities, or apparent inadequacies. Your value is not predicated upon your intelligence, political prowess, physical abilities, or pedigree. Your worth; it is all wrapped up, tied up, tangled up in Jesus. He gave His life for you. Of inestimable value was the life of Christ and He gave it for you.
Many of our interpersonal problems are increased because we do not understand or embrace who we are in Christ. Can you imagine if those who use so-called race as a bludgeoning tool recognized and embraced their identities in Christ?
If they embraced that Jesus came to earth to love and save people from every nation, tongue, and tribe, would they use those distinctions to spew hatred? No.
What if murderers embraced Jesus’ love? Would they be able to take a life they had no power to give? No. What if proud people got the memo about the King who became a servant to take away the sins of the world? Would they continue with their elitist mentalities? No. What if fornicators, alcoholics, gamblers, addicts of all kinds, and hypocrites, embraced the message of Christ? Would they continue to fritter away their vitality with vice? Well, you know.
Unlike the vicious slave masters of the world, Jesus purchased each and every one of us to give us life, not take it away. He gave us life to set us free from sin, degradation, and death. Are you willing to surrender your life to such a loving Savior, to be used to spread love and life wherever you go? I do not think you need me to tell you that life is short and the world is getting out of control. So the sooner more of us embrace the value God has placed upon our lives, and live within that consciousness, is the sooner we can do our part to help others do the same before it’s too late.
Your value is bound in the heart of God and the value of His dear Son’s life. Act like you know. Live like you know. Peace.
