Black Love: Pushing Past the Pixels for Something Real

Peace, Y’all! Let’s get this straight. We’re in an age where Wi-Fi signals might seem stronger than some human connections, but I challenge you – don’t let the screen be stronger than your love. #pause

When I talk about grind, passion, and never giving up, it’s not just about your career goals. It’s about love, too, especially when the love of your life is miles away. I’m not gonna front. When I was still single, more than 22 years ago, things were a lot different than now.

Picture this: every morning you hit the gym to put in that work, sweat pouring, muscles aching, because you’re chasing that dream physique. That’s the same energy, that same grind you gotta put into long-distance love. Yeah, you heard me!

Virtual dates? Nah, they ain’t just dates. They’re your lifeblood! Just like every rep counts in the gym, every moment counts here. When you’re watching that movie together across time zones, or sharing that virtual dinner, it’s not about the activity. It’s about being present every moment, living every second. It’s deeper than just a video call. I literally cannot believe I am saying this, but it’s true!

Now, let’s talk words. You ever hear someone say, “Words are just words”? Man, they couldn’t be more wrong! Every text, every call—it’s your voice, your presence, your essence. Dr. Gary Chapman, the relationship guru, hit it on the head when he said, “Love is something you do for someone else, not something you do for yourself.” So, when you send that message, it ain’t about hitting a quota. It’s about making them feel you, even from miles away.

And let me drop another bomb on you. Trust in a relationship is like oxygen. You can’t see it, but man, you can’t live without it. It’s that foundation! The Bible, in Ephesians 4:25 (NLT), really lays it down this way: “So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth.” If you’re in this game of love, you’re in it 100%, no filters, no pretenses.

Every time you get that chance to meet? Yo, that’s not a visit; that’s a reunion! It’s a celebration, a testimony of your grind in love. You gotta cherish those, feel them deep, because they’re proof that love ain’t about proximity, it’s about priority. #pause

Here’s the bottom line for you: love ain’t a passive game, fam. You gotta hustle, you gotta grind, you gotta want that relationship as bad as you want to breathe. Because at the end of the day, true love, even across screens, is about pushing past the pixels, diving deep, and keeping it real. So, if you’re in it, be all in! And if you’re not ready for that kind of grind? Maybe it’s time to reevaluate.

Let’s go! Keep it pure, keep it a buck, and stay true to your values. We’re in this together!
